Incidence
Colonic adenomatous polyps, usually less than 1 cm in diameter, are very common and are found with increased frequency with age. After the age of 65, for example, two thirds of individuals will have at least one polyp. Patients with one demÂonstrated polyp have a considerably enhanced chance of having another coincident one or of deÂveloping an additional polyp subsequently.
